Hello everyone I'm Wen. I've used a remstar plus for 4 years. set on 12, AHI 84, I also have used a passover humidifier off and on for the last 2 years. I have bad allergies which constantly aggravate my sinuses, as a result I sometimes do not use the humidifier and sometimes it drys my sinus out .
Lately I've been having trouble sleeping again. Actually my whole life i've had trouble sleeping. I've used lorezepam and Amitriptillyne for years, I generally don't get to sleep untill 2-3 am. and wake about 7;30- 8 each morning. Fortunately my body allows me to function with very little sleep. I can almost never take a nap unless real sick. Can't sleep on planes although we travel alot ( frequently 12-14 hour flights.)
After reading some of your topics and some on-line research, I've come to the conclusion perhaps I need an auto CPAP with heated humidifier. I've reviewed some of the info on the diferent machines. I have several questions? Since I travel alot a small machine would be great, I'm interested in the Puritan Bennett Goodknight 420. But a friend has an older Puritan Bennet machine and it is very loud. Have any of you been able to compare the machines? I've been pleased with the Remstar and anticipated getting the Auto with C-flex and heated humidifier but it's so large. And now the sleep technician has recommended a Bears PV 10, says the technology on this machine is far superior to the other machines. I've tried to get some info on this machine but there seems to be little on the net about it. If anyone has any answers I appreciate it. Thanks Wen P>S> I find the techs sell you whatever they're pushing, and so far I can't find a supplier that has all three to listen and see the differences.
What's the Best CPAP for my needs?
sleep problems
hi, i am new to this site and have sleep apnea, the thing is that I only get it when i eat certain foods, not every night like some of you guys. I seem to only have it once in the night but it is very very severe and feel like im going to die.
It is the most frightening thing you go through, and i get very very distressed. I know what foods affect me (peanuts, yeast-soy sauce, and some dairy but not as much as the other foods.
I seem to be ok of a night if i stay away from the foods, however my father has it and uses a mask, (he has it quite severly and has heart failure too) and my late uncle had it too. I wonder if it is hereditary or just food problems, my brother and sister seem ok with it.
I find when I have an episode I wake up in the morning very very distressed and tired.
Just wondering if anyone out there has the same problem with food.
Thanks for letting me join your site.
