weird hours on IntelliPap

Post by HPM » Tue Jul 10, 2012 5:59 pm

I've had my machine since last fall and last week it started incorrectly showing hrs used in a night. For ex, when I used it for 7 hours, its shows 2 hours. It won't show the true hours, always shows 2 or 3 hrs. Anyone had this issue with the IntelliPap auto? Otherwise, it works great.

I don't know anything about your machine but ResMed S9 machines sometimes get "stuck" reporting the same data value and it could be anything from leak to AHI to hours of use. Usual remedy is to unplug the machine from the electric source and wait a couple minutes and then plug it back it. This forces a "reboot" of the system's internal firmware and normally fixes the issue with a ResMed machine. I don't know if it would work with your machine but sure wouldn't hurt to try. If it persists then there may be a problem with reporting software and you might want to talk to your DME about it.

Do you have the software to see if the software reports are also showing same issue?

Also, a lot of machines don't report last night's stats properly after noon the next day... in other words take your results prior to noon if you want accurate readings.

I'm on phone holding with help. I always check before noon. Did the unplugging thing. No luck. Will let you know. Thanks for responding.

Haven't seen that with mine and can't imagine why that would happen. Fortunately the Intellipap has a 3 year warranty.

Ok, spoke with customer service of host. She said that if its registering only 2 or 3 hours a night, then its only providing therapy for those hours even though I slept 7 hours. My mask is on securely and I use chin strap. This all started about June 29th. What could be the reason for this? Seems it would at least register a high leak. Anyway, customer service is to contact DeVilbiss as unit is still under warranty. The kicker is , if unit is sent back for service, a loaner from "place" i bought it from will charge $139 for a loaner.
This doesn't seem quite fair to me.

I spoke again with customer service and she did speak with DeVilbiss. I need to send the machine back and they will send to DeVilbiss. Loaner machines are not covered in the warranty so $139 to rent loaner. I do have an old machine that is fixed pressure but it's humidifier is not adequate. I bought this new auto CPAP because insurance would not replace the old one unless it was "irrepairable". Supposed to have major surgery in 3 weeks so I'm really worried. I just don't get why that loaner fee is there. I jumped up and down on the phone about it with customer service and they offered to decrease it by 5% and pay shipping to send my machine in. I am miserable due to poor therapy

The Intellipap uses a 12 hr clock. Unplug then plug it back in right before you go to bed. This will reset the 12 hrs to include the time you are sleeping. I had this happen to mine before. The 12 hrs is expiring 2 to 3 hrs before you wake up.

Ok. I'll try that. I did unplug it earlier today. Interesting that In the 8 or 9 months I've had the IntelliPap, I didn't,t have to do this. Thanks

did that work?
You may have had a power failure sometime during the day that reset it.
