My titration was scheduled for 8/1 but an opening came up for tomorrow. I've only been on my machine since last Thursday 7/5. I'm happy about it because the lab tech told me I'd get to check out lots of different masks - not sure the one I currently have is the best for me, but my issues seem to get a little better each day. Still, I'm okay with such a quick follow-up and will be happy if the pressure question is resolved. My initial test indicated mild problems in non-REM, major in REM. I had an AHI of 64 and my lowest oxygen was 72. No wonder I can't think straight.
Anyway, I'm happy with the time frame. Information is always good and, thanks to the all the posts here, I've got lots of questions to ask.
Surprise! A cancellation at the lab.

Good for you. You will be well armed with questions that hopefully they will answer.

Get a new notebook for ALL of your sleep info.MelindaJoan wrote:I've got lots of questions to ask.
Write your questions in there as you think of them, or else you are likely to forget it. Leave room under each question for the answer. You may want to ask the doc the very same question IF you ever get to see a doc.
Many times a doc will sign off on the data scoring, yet YOU will never even meet that doc. Always ask for copies of the sleep studies - both of them. AND any prescriptions. You want a copy in your hand - for continued medical care. You will need a copy of your sleep study AND a prescription for any DME you choose to use.
Do NOT accept that you won't need it - we will fax it. That always results in "we didn't get it" - "yes, we sent it" - circle jerk. They can/should fax it but you want a copy too.
Any problems and you should fill out a written request.

I have no doubt, how I sleep affects every waking moment.
I am making progress-NOW I remember that I can't remember

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

Re: Surprise! A cancellation at the lab.
Thank you for the suggestions. I do have a copy of the first sleep study and intend to get a copy of this one, too. My questions are now on paper and I've started my own log about how I sleep and feel at various humidity levels.
I had some problems last night and ended up taking the mask off at 4:45 am. I do need to address this whole sinus issue. The question is, which doctor do I ask? My PCP, my rheumatologist, the sleep doctor? I'll hit them all up.
So, good, I'll get to try lots of masks tonight (which I assume means not so much sleep.) Ok, with me - I just want to get going on some restorative sleep.

The purpose of the titration is to find out what pressure works best for you. I don't think you will try as many masks as you think.MelindaJoan wrote:So, good, I'll get to try lots of masks tonight (which I assume means not so much sleep.)
IF possible write down a list of masks you think you'd like to try.
