Is it Best to Buy Respironics card reader and Software?

Post by om15 » Thu Mar 23, 2006 2:51 am

Debating if I want to spend the 200 for the manufacturers product that includes the software and reader. Or is it sufficient to just buy the software for $99 and get the #30 card reader? Any input would be appreciated as I am a rookie on the forum. First night with the remstar was difficult think that I may not have needed the cflex. Thanks. Glenn

I am just waiting for my 2factors card reader for $30.80. When exchange comes in it cost me about $38.00. The cardreader and software is fine for $200 but you can save some money by going with the 2factors reader.

Time Vs. Money. It'll take 10-14 days to get the 2-factors reader. From cpap.com you'll have it in 2-4 days. I'm pretty sure that the readers are the same from either source.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with a more elaborate process and longer wait just to save $50-$60 unless that made the difference in being able to afford it or not. But I'm a very impatient person and in reality this isn't something you have to get right away.

Supposedly, here is another place to get a reader. I've not tried it:

Another place to purchase (in the USA) at a cost of $56.00 is:

But if the think the cflex isn't for you, why not turn it off for a night or two and see how you feel?

I like C-Flex, the only time I'd question it would be if your pressure is on the low end. 4-5 ish.

Otherwise, at least for me, C-FLex is a nice comfort item, especially when my pressure is up around 9 cm and higher.

It's really an individual thing. Most like C-FLex.

The Mask is another subject all together.

As far as the software & reader, I consider them indispensable but if it takes a week to get there's no hurry - the data will be there.

Good luck,

Tom
