OT: Prayers for My Dad

Post by Starlette » Sat Jun 30, 2012 4:37 pm

Good evening everyone.

I haven't been on the forum for a week. My dad is very, very sick and has been in the of hospital since last Thursday. He initially went in for a swollen knee and high ammonia levels. He had surgery on his knee last Friday. However, due to an allergic reaction to an antibiotic and wrong prescription drug ( at this time, we're not sure what it was, but will soon find out when this is all over) we almost lost him this past Wednesday. I've come home for the weekend to spend some time with my husband. Since Thursday, his numbers are beginning to stabilize. We're hoping he will be able to return home soon. I felt it necessary to be with my husband over the weekend. I'm writing this post to ask for your prayers for both my parents and family. Thank you so much.

Starlette, I'm sorry to hear about your dad, and I am sending prayers your way! My mother-in-law had problems with her ammonia levels and it turned out to be her liver enzymes, and was resolved with the proper meds. I hope everything gets better very soon. God Bless

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Tonight's update: Since I'm home for the weekend, I called the hospital for an update. She said he was doing well. However, the main topic I want to know at this time is the liver number ( Either the liver or the kidney. Sorry, I'm medically challenged). I keep tabs on this number everyday since I found out it's a VERY important number. These are the current numbers for the last couple of days 3.9, 3.7, 3.0, 3.1. If that number raises to a five, then he would need to be put on dialysis which would only buy him time. Mom and I have agreed not to put him through this. Even with dialysis, he runs the risk of getting another infection. I am currently glad for this report.
