Aura - smalll head

Post by sleepyred » Tue Mar 21, 2006 5:30 pm

I've been wondering about the aura - if one has a small head - would it even be worth trying?

Is it really more comfortable than the breeze for those who have tried both? I know about the exhalation port being in a bette placer.

TIA!

The headgear is too big for a small (or maybe even a medium) head. Too bad.

If you are handy with a sewing machine, you could probably make the straps shorter. Some of us just deconstruct the Aura because we hate the headgear on top of the head.

My head isn't all that small and i wear it with the straps shortened up as much as they go.

I wonder who they designed this for.

I happily used the Breeze for almost a year. Yes, Aeiomed's "Headrest" (Aura) really is more comfortable. For me, anyway. Might not be for someone else. Everyone's mask preferences are just that - their own preference...and sometimes not for the reasons that would matter to another person.

It's a throw of the dice anytime any of us try a different mask. The odds may or may not be improved by what we read that others like, and why they like it.

The Headrest (Aura) does take a LOT of tweaking to fit small heads, or maybe even average size men's heads!

LOL!! Very good question. Wonder what hat size this guy wears:

I sure do like my chopped-down/homemade-strap version:

The Headrest (Aura) is still my favorite mask, with the ComfortLite 2 in close second place.

And RG's picture is exactly how I rig up my deconstructed Aura (Headrest) using strapping cut from tights (heavy duty pantyhose). For the pad on the forehead, I use the round foam makeup applicators. I use a piece of papertape to hold the foam in place. Plus, I don't have to reposition it every night.

Works great and is so comfortable.
