I have found the Swift very difficult to adjust to but it is very comfortable - subject to the Nasal Pain, etc.

I am now after several weeks just turning the corner on it. You might try being more patient with it, if you can.

Probably 3-4 weeks but I got VERY sore from it initially.

I was at 9 cm on a CPAP initially and it hurt no matter how much I tried or how loose the straps were. I thought my Nares were weird or something.

I just got annoyed that it wouldn't work for me but the Mask itself was more comfortable than my NAsal, less confining, etc.

Also I wear glasses which I can wear with the Swift, not the Nasal.

I really didn't think I had a chance with it but consider for some of us, putting a foreign object shooting high pressure air directly into your nose is NOT a natural occurance.
Also, you've spent your whole life up until now without anything on your face let alone in your face while trying to sleep. The whole process of adjustment in no easy task, IMHO.

The Swift is a good simple mask - It is a royal pain to adjust to for many of us. Based on my readings here -you have to decide that you will get adjusted to it.

It's good you have another mask. What did you get?

DOn't give up on the Swift. Try it an hour at a time. First if you're sore - let your nose heal - get some AYR gel and use it to help the healing process.

Five nights is not enough time and if you're sore you can't force it.

Tom

Roztom,

I thought that I had 2 weeks to exchange it. That is not the case, but he gave the comfort curve for free. But I still paid for the swift.

I sent you a PM.

Are you sure you're ready to thrown the pillow in?

New Mask

Post by Moogy » Tue Mar 21, 2006 4:44 pm

Brenny,

Have you used your new mask yet? Were you able to keep it on while sleeping?

I am hoping you have finally found something that helps.
