Sore Lungs

Post by danmarco » Tue Mar 21, 2006 6:38 am

I have been on CPAP for about 3 months. My pressure is set to 14cm.
In the last two weeks my lungs are sore in the morning. Any ideas on what is causing this and how to fix.

Have you tried lowering your pressure? Seems like it might be worth a try.

Enter the type of device, mask etc that you are using so people can give you more info-it's a stab in the dark without knowing what equipment you have..

I am using the ResMed S8 Compact with the Mirage Activa nasal mask. I am also using a humidifier.

Dan, I think you really need to check with your doctor.

Jim is right get a doctor's appt-in the meantime think about anything new going on and any other symptoms you are having. Your doctor hopefully knows your medical history any can put the pieces together with this new problem.

Thanks for your responses to my posting. I turned down the pressure to 12cm and that appears to have resolved the problem.

Hi Dan
I find it intriguing that your pressure was set for three months, and your started getting sore all of a sudden.

When my pressure - on an automatic machine is (relatively) high for a long time, I know it by the way my lungs (ribs?) feel in the morning. But that's an automatic machine, not set pressure.

I may be way off on this but the only thing that has changed in the last three months is that I have lost about 20 pounds.
