Should FX Quattro Feel Like It Is Inflating On Each Breath

Post by fredmertz » Sat Jun 09, 2012 6:31 am

I am a nasal pillow user, but I bought am FX Quattro for those stuffy-nose nights. I haven't needed to use it yet, but I tried it on and turned on the machine to test it out. It seemed like the entire mask would inflate and deflate on each breath and it seemed like it would be the kind of thing that would make getting to sleep hard.

Is that standard with the full-face masks and just something to get used to or is mine not functioning properly?

The only time I'll notice this is if I take an abnormally fast and deep breath. With regular breathing, I don't experience this at all. I do not use EPR which could possibly contribute to that happening since that would alter the air pressure being delivered between inhale and exhale cycles.

I've noticed that too. Felt a bit odd at first but have gotten used to it. When I feel it flexing a bit, I am reassured that I haven't over tightened it.
