CPAPS

Post by Teresa55 » Fri Jun 08, 2012 5:34 pm

I've used cpap for 15 yrs. my problem now is that I have no medical insurance,no recent sleep study and this morning my machine stopped working. I'm panicked because I can't sleep without it. Any help or suggestions would be welcomed. My machine of choice is an older one, HorizonLT

Go on craigslist and find one there cheap. Try and get one with data to show you how you are doing. Then you can bypass the sleep study route for now.

Do you know your pressure? If not your best bet is to try to get a data capable machine from craigslist and come back here for assistance.

sleepycarol, I think it's 10. As for Craig's list, I guess Iim technologically challenged :lola: because I have tried to navigate craig's list several times and for the life of me I can't seem to do it , but I will continue to try because I need a machine asap, Iim afraid to sleep without it. Not to mention sleep apnea is not my only issue as I have asthma, and emphysema, and Iim a smoker

Craigslist is relatively easy to navigate. What city are you in or near?

You should apply for Medicaid. Then you can get a sleep study, a prescription and a new machine set to the correct pressure.

There are 49 million people on Medicaid. Why not you?

Where are you located? Do you have funds to purchase a new machine? I have a source for new ResMed S9 AutoSet (and I think she has other models) that is trustworthy that sells from Craigslist. Not cheap but new but still less than online prices.
If really short on funds and just want a basic machine to get you by, they are out there. Need to know the models and which are good deals or not. Let me know about the money and I will see what is available around here where I live or send me a note and I will send you the information on where I got my machine from.

When you open craigslist just put Cpap in the search box click the list arrow and when the list comes up select For Sale and the click the search .

I have an older machine that might work. I sent you a p.m. so please check and let me know if it is something you might be interested in -- at least until you can get something different.

To check you P.M. it is up under the search engine next to where it says user control panel.

I truly appreciate all the feedback I got. I am fortunate to have gotten help with a machine. I am so glad that I came across this forum. It really is comforting that you know you are not alone. I will stay in touch. Thank-you so much, again. Happy sleeping to all of you
