Full Face backup mask recommendations?

Post by IndyDave » Wed Jun 06, 2012 4:39 pm

First of I'll apologize because I know this has been covered in different threads, but I'm really not up to searching for it right now. In still trying to determine the cause of my tachycardia, my doc has taken me off the one med I'm taking that does have that as a potential side effect. This is really just to be sure, since I've been on it for 10 years with no problem. He's given me substitute that has a different chemistry, though it won't be as effective. But, over the 2 last 2 nights of transition, my sinuses have swollen shut - not stuffed up, just locked dwon tight. irrigation, etc... doesn't open me up for more than 15 minutes, so my nasal pillow is pretty ineffective. Headaches are also a temporary side effect of the replacement med, as you adjust to it, compounded by the other one clearning my system. And with the sinus thing and not getting enough o2, the headache is pretty close to a migraine in magnitude.

So I'm looking for that "sick" full face mask that's often talked about, hopefully not too expensive, since it will only be used on occasion. But yeah, I'm ready to pay overnight shipping. As I said, I just don't feel up to searching the threads and reading the reviews, so I was hoping you kind folks might help.

Also, back before I got anything, I don't remember which mask it was, but I printed the sizing guide out on card stock and tried sizing myself, but I feel right between medium and large. If that's the case, should I go with the larger size, or stick with smaller. My face is big and round, but my nose mouth area isn't so much by comparison. I use the medium pillows... Thanks everyone. I'm gonna go stick my head in a bucket of ice. I've got 10 more days of this experiment, unless he relents when I check in with him on Friday.

Gee what a coincidence. I was having problems with a blocked nose last night and i thought to myself, what would be a good FFM. I have been using a combination of nasal mask and pillows.Like you,if i buy one i would only use it when I have blocked nose problems. I have the added problem that if the best one is Resmed its very expensive in Australia.I look forward to any suggestions.
