The first month of CPAP is done. "In the can", as they say in the movie-business. I had some issues to deal with, the most vexing one being the chin-strap issue. I tried three or four different chin straps. I see the need for a new design for chin straps, and might have to come up with something. It is not easy to put straps around a round object, but there has to be a better way.
My nasal mask still leaves a red mark on my nose, but over time I have been able to loosen the straps on the mask a bit, and might be able to get rid of the marks. Otherwise I will be looking for a new mask before that skin starts to break down. As it is, my skin recovers from the pressure in a few hours, and I am young and healthy enough that my skin can take some abuse, but it's still an issue.
The machine has given me no problems. I do have an issue with the SD card that I posted earlier today. That is probably an operator problem, not a machine problem anyway.
The first couple of weeks were kind of a hassle, trying to get things fitting properly, and get comfortable in the bed with everything. Now I have sort of a system in place as far as where the tubing goes, and how I handle things. I have the machine in reach, but not where it will fall on the floor (that was scary), etc.
Overall, I have slept better this month that I have at any time in the previous 50+ years. I wake up feeling awake, and am able to function in the morning. I have been able to exercise almost every day, and don't wake up extremely sore the next day like I used to.
CPAP is good.
First month in the can.

I have sleep apnea, but I don't snore. Never have. (I am also not male, obese or hypertensive)
I believe the screening criteria for sleep apnea is missing a LOT of people, who have a lot of unnecessary OSA related disease.

Good news! You may still need to "mask-shop". Now that you have some experience to rely on... you can shop around for a mask and know what to look for. Keep up the great work!
