Having trouble with my nasal CPAP mask. I have a Zest Nasal CPAP Mask with Headgear. I like the way it is made, but it leaves a mark on my nose. I think if it were 1/2" longer it would be perfect. I have a relatively small face, with a maybe little bit larger nose, or it is more prominent at the bridge. The mask puts pressure on the area and leaves a mark. The RT gave me a rubbery thing that is supposed to pad the bridge of the nose, and it is HUGE and not helpful, so I cut it way down, and if I use it to pad this area, the mask leaks quite a bit of air blowing into my eyes. Is there another mask that might fit better, or is there another way to prevent the pressure on the bridge of the nose?
Thanks.
Nasal mask recommendations, please.

I have sleep apnea, but I don't snore. Never have. (I am also not male, obese or hypertensive)
I believe the screening criteria for sleep apnea is missing a LOT of people, who have a lot of unnecessary OSA related disease.

I use Activa LT nasal mask and it just float on face but mask is a personal thing everyone is different its matter of trial and error to find the right mask. Nasal pillows doesn't blow to your eyes get the return policy from cpap.com so you can try as many masks till you find the right one.

I use the "Aloha" Nasal mask...I have tried quite a few and per lots of glowing recommendations from this board I got the Aloha about 6 weeks ago....I love it...It is super comfortable and doesn't bother your nose like a lot of them do....I also use lansinoh.... a salve for nursing mothers...I put just a dab in each nostril and it helps get a good seal. You can buy that at any drug store or Walmart.
I hope this helps, good luck and welcome to this wonderful forum....you will get lots of help here!

If you can use a nasal pillow mask then that would be the way to go. Minimal contact with the skin and no contact at all on the bridge of the nose.
Mask preference is highly personal. What someone else might love, someone else might hate.
I have never used a nasal (over the nose) mask but I have tried several nasal pillow masks so any of those masks I have to leave it to those members who do use nasal masks.
If you really prefer the over the nose type of mask you might look at the SleepWeaver.

You might also consider a mask liner. You can send Karen an email and ask her if one of her liners would fit your current mask.

Re: Nasal mask recommendations, please.
The Zest comes in different sizes? Does your DME have another size that you can try? Originally, I used True Blue, but I HATED the headgear. I switched to the Zest, but honestly the True Blue (except headgear) is more comfortable and I don't have to tighten it as much as I had to with the Zest.Breathing wrote:Having trouble with my nasal CPAP mask. I now use True Blue with my Zest Head Gear.
Again, mask choice is totally an individual thing.
Good Luck!

Re: Nasal mask recommendations, please.
Breathing,
I will add another Nasal mask to the discussion. My very first mask from my titration is the same mask I still use today (got lucky on the first try ). It is the PR EasyLife Nasal mask https://www.cpap.com/productpage/easyli ... -pack.html.
I have a small nose and due to it being badly broken as a kid, I cannot stand anything pressing on the bridge of the nose at all. This mask is like a mask with-in a mask and the inner silicone mask part gently grabs and seals around the nose. The outer silicone mask part supports the mask gently on the area between the nose and upper lip, and on the forehead between the eyes. It has never left any marks on me at all. The mask is worn very loose and it is counter-intuitive that it would seal, but the inner mask part is what seals the mask, not the outer mask support. Give this one some thought
As you already know, this wonderful mask that I hope is around for the rest of my PAP life, could be a total torture device for someone else... YMMV

Re: Nasal mask recommendations, please.
Zest is made by F&P and from my experience with this concern they don't use the technology of two layers of Silicone for sealing on the cushions as Resmed and Respironics do. So any other nasal masks by these two companies such as my or Activa or Respironics Blue line, etc., should do but with a chinstrap. As to pillows, imo, they are crap b/c of their unsteadiness while the air hose is pulling on their tiny support and also b/c of their vibrations in the nostrils.
