Is this normal, low, or high on CPAP?

Post by jlklinko » Thu May 24, 2012 4:28 pm

Hi there
1) According to Sleephead I had 6 events last night- one Hyponea and 5 OA. The rest were centrals - 5 of those.
2) My AHI was a little over 1.
3) Is this good or bad?

AHI below 5 is considered "normal". If you got an AHI of below 5 in a lab sleep study, you'd be declared to not have OSA. So, any AHI below 5 is considered to be effective treatment of your OSA with CPAP. Many of us strive for a lower AHI of below 2 or so, because we feel better when it's lower. An AHI of 1 is great.
