How can I buy a RESMED S9 autoset from Viet Nam?
Hi all,
I'm a new member of CPAP talk. My name is Ngoc Hoang, you can call me Finn, 25 years old, male.
I'm now patient of OSA disease. I feel almost exhausted this moment.
In Viet Nam, I'm suggested buying a CPAP machine. However, it is extremely expensive in Viet Nam (3000 USD/unit).
As http://www.resphop.com I found it cost around 1000USD unit only. However, reshop dose not provide CPAP outside US for personal purpose.
Who instruct me how to buy one abroad?
Pleaseeeeeeeeeee......... give me a hand.
Thanks

There are some remailing (mail forwarding) services in the US that will fill out necessary forms and ship items for a service fee. I would google those if I didn't have friends in the US.

Shop around some are not rigid as others and also PR System One auto is as good (and cheaper) as the S9 and no problem with shipping

Try - secondwindcpap.com - it is a reliable on-line seller of used and open box units. A co-worker who lives in HK bought an open box that was new. And they ship overseas for reasonable fee. He paid in area of $400+ for S8 autoset, plus another $50+ for shipping to HK.
Second, I think having them ship directly to Vn [HMCM?} will present problems for you - import duties, filling out paperwork? If you travel to HK or Singapore often, I can give you address [via pm] of my office[s] and they would hold for your pick up.
Good luck!

At least your not in Australia which is on Resmed's "thou shall not send there" list. There are many places that will sell the autoset but they need prescription written in English and it helps if you can get their form filled out by your doctor (and they don't care if you use a different companies form). US retailers will be hesitant to deal with you because of credit card fraud and they don't often deal with money from overseas so they don't know what is risky and what isn't. If you have friends in the US, they may be able to help move the money there which makes it traceable by the US banking system which means the merchant will be happy.
The last time I was in the US, I stopped by a "doc in a box" type place with my cpap prescrption and a copy of my sleep report and the doctor gave me new one. I can use that to bypass ResMed's silly requirements but I still have stuff shipped to a friend in the US who resends it.

Yes, I agree with dtsm. Actually, they (secondwindcpap) don't need a prescription for overseas orders so it's pretty easy to process your order. They were very helpful to me and prompt with replies. I think shipping was about $65.00 via USPS. I would go across to Thailand, Malaysia or Singapore as dtsm mentioned to avoid import tax, unless Vietnam has a 'personal home use' exemption for one unit where you can avoid tax. The other store I mentioned in my pm to you also don't need a prescription and will ship directly to you.dtsm wrote:Try - secondwindcpap.com - it is a reliable on-line seller of used and open box units.
