My DME did a crummy job of explaining the machine to me, or I was just too sleepy to care.
How can I tell if the blasted machine is on? Should the light be blue or green? Mine always seems like it's blowing from the time I plug it in and several times I've woken up at night and I swear the machine is off. I know it blows air to cool down and I think that's what is confusing. I turned off the ramp thinking that would help and I still can't tell. I'm worried it's blowing air but then I fall asleep and it's not set right and is turning off.
Also, how can I see the data from my machine? It is possible my dme has turned that feature off so I can't play with it? I'm an analyst at heart and it's killing me that I didn't get a big instruction manual and can't find much online.
Tonight will be my 7th night on the machine and while i don't see a difference my friends and family are all telling me I laugh more and both my daughters curled up with me and told me they are happy I'm fun again.

Re: Question on the S9 Elite
Your DME may have set the machine so the ramp comes on at first..very low pressure and it may seem like it isn't putting out much air.
The small amount of air that blows after you turn the machine off..that is indeed the cool down period.
He may have also set it up so you can't see the information on the LCD screen.. You can fix that though.
It should show you the pressure.. I will send you the clinical manual so you can go into your clinical setup and turn on the settings to you can see all the stuff on your LCD screen. Check your private message box for that information.
Check out my signature line for information on SleepyHead which will work with your machine.
For instructions on how to get to the clinical menu with pictures..here

Re: Question on the S9 Elite
Ok, you got great advice and help from Pugsy.
I'm just going comment on your statement that you don't notice any difference BUT YOUR FRIENDS DO AND YOUR DAUGHTERS OBVIOUSLY HAVE!! Yeah, it's working - YOU just don't know it yet
Seriously - it can take days, weeks, months, years - or no time - until you actually FEEL a difference. Each person is different and it might depend any number of things why it takes the amount of time it does to feel great.
I'm 18-months into therapy and still don't leap out of bed in the mornings or have endless energy all day, like I hoped, but my data shows me differently, I sleep without waking all night.
Hang in there - your analytical side will be happily satisfied if you spend time here asking, reading and helping others.
Cheers,
xena
