Mirage Activa LT leaks-any tips

Post by burc2006 » Mon Apr 23, 2012 11:26 am

Hello all,
I have a problem with my Activa LT mask. Mask is very comfy and easy to fit, however I sleep without leaks, and in the morning waking up with some leaks over my upper lip.
Before I sleep, I also check any leak happening if I turn left or right.
What can be the reason of this leaks in the morning?
BTW, my leak seen on the S9 screen is always under 5 lt/min
Thanks

This mask which is similar to the mask that I use Resmed Mirage Softgel nasal mask, also seals at above the upper lip. So if you lift it with your lower lip it could leak. But since your overall leak is so small why worry about it?

I have a ResMed Softgel mask that I selected because it was more comfortable than all of the other masks I tried. The only problem with this mask is the fact that it's heavy and larger in size than most. When I would sleep on my side I would have problems with the mask leaking. It's also important to note my average AHI index was about 7.0.

When viewing another board I ran across a post from someone about a product from http://www.padacheek.com called a mask liner. Although the intent of the liner is something else the author of the post and others suggested that the liner would help prevent leaks and make the mask more comfortable.

In short the liner is all that it is claimed to be plus more. Along with helping to prevent leaks my average AHI index has dropped about 4 points to an average of about 3. Not saying that the PadACheek liner will help you like it helped me but I think you should check it out yourself.
