S9 VPAP Auto with Humidifier

Post by Pat123 » Sat Apr 21, 2012 10:11 am

Hello all SOLD************SOLD*************SOLD*********

I am here simply to sell, or get advice how to sell a S9 VPAP Auto. I thought it be best to sell it where it will be appreciated and used.

I have a S9 VPAP Auto machine only a week old, with about 12 hours on it. Long story short this unit belonged to my father in law who will NOT wear it. The wife and I went threw heck to purchase this machine, that is neither here nor there. I understand that selling used medical equipment is not easy and I will not get near the retail price.

I know nothing about this machine other then what it cost new. It is complete with caring case, full mask, slime line hose, extra filters, humidifier and power pack. I have pictures if you need them. I understand that I will not get nearly what it cost and I am open for suggestions as to where I am able to sell it, whether here or on line. Any input will be of great help.

Thank you all in advance for any help you can offer.

You can also use your local craigslist to place an ad.

It is a very expensive high end machine and the number of people needing or using that particular machine is going to be fewer. Price? I have no idea. You can look online for a starting point at online cpap suppliers product section to see what they offer their new machines at. I don't know if you paid DME inflated price or a more reasonable online retail price. Doesn't really matter what you paid for it though. You already know that it is hard to get full retail in the secondary market. Most people don't have that kind of money laying around.

So I would use an online price for this machine as my starting point for a price. It hasn't been hurt with the 12 hours of use but even with zero hours on it..it is going to take someone needing that level of machine first.

Just so you don't feel too bad, that's a good price for it new. You got a good deal.

Edit: To clarify ... A couple years ago I paid about $4,500 for an older version of that unit.

That was a good price for that model machine. Easily twice that online.
If I was needing that model machine....I would be willing to pay pretty much nearly what you paid to get it.

It is a very special high end machine though so it is going to take someone needing that machine specifically.
While I have been curious about those machines...I am not in the position to buy one just to experiment and I really have no medical need for it.

Ahh...that is what I use. I just had to take my tractor in to the tractor fixing place or I would be talking to you about the machine. I just don't have any extra money right now.

Adapt and VPAP auto...two entirely different machines.

You might want to alter your subject title to reflect the model correctly.

Oh its an auto not an adapt. The adapt is much more expensive. I paid over $4000 a year ago in Sydney.

I can buy a new S9 VPAP Auto from my DME for $1,849, which is $100 less than the Internet price, as long as I provide them a copy of my prescription.
It's possible that it is for the flow generator section only with no accessories.

I doubt it if Resmed would service this machine if it is purchased on the open market outside the net of their sales reps.

Not so sure about that. Normally all that is required is that a person take the machine to a DME to act as a go between. Owner pays shipping both ways. ResMed honors their warranty and the DME is just a go between agent. Works that way if I move to Las Vegas and have a problem with any of my machines under warranty. Worked that way for people who bought machines at the cpapauction.

If you take a vacation to New York City and your machine craps out on your vacation...all you do is take it to a DME who will act as a go between and send it back to ResMed. You aren't require to show a receipt where you purchased it.
