please help!! no solutions for CSA/OSA
please help!! no solutions for CSA/OSA
I've tried everything and nothing seems to work for my CSA/OSA except for prednisone and rarely bipap/asv. hopefully the resmed ASV will finally cure me but I've lost hope of ever being normal again
Re: please help!! no solutions for CSA/OSA
Take the klonopin you mentioned in a previous post and try to get used to the ASV. Nothing is going to help until you're using the machine 100% of sleep time. Use the Ramp to fall asleep before the pressure goes up.. There is a solution. Use the ASV 100% of sleep time. Unless you're prescribed theophylline leave it alone. Please don't post multiple times about the same subject. Good luck, hang in there. It takes time and commitment.

are the thinking problems from sleep apnea reversible?

I do agree that you are one confused puppy.
At 12:01 a.m. you say the ASV will "cure" you and at 1:28 a.m. you say it doesn't work. I remember scanning other posts of yours and you do seem desperate.
I suggest you summarize in this post what you have tried, what you are doing now and what your current problems are. Quit posting in the other threads - it is a very disjointed conversation and will only make you more confused and confuse the people who would like to help you.
I also suggest you quit whining about brain damage and irreversible health damage. This whining is doing you no good. Switch to problem-solving mode!
BTW, much of what you are believing is permanent brain damage is probably just confusion from severe sleep deprivation. This is reversible.
Get in problem-solving mode!

thanks for the replies.
well I'm trying to use the machine all night every night, but I can only sleep 1-2 hours on it for some strange reason. ok maybe I will try again. my asthma is making me wheeze for months now also- prednisone is helping
anyway it's pretty bad, I get headaches when I wake up sometimes and am in a fog for 2 days and my endo system is all screwed up

apnea2142, hello, it does get better.
At some point, you have to become your own advocate and fight against the system that can get out of control and be dead wrong about your health. If your not happy with your treatment, see another doctor and ask for a complete blood test with everything included, especially a thyroid panel.(my and my sisters thyroid is sluggish, too. something in our water?) My wife is off all the medication except her thyroid pill every morning and her cpap prescription is back to where it was when she started. She feels good again. I'm not saying that your case is like hers, but it does sound as if there are other issues going on.

I really agree with NightMonkey and Mary Z and Isaac. You need to get into problem solving mode. Don't moan and groan about your situation. Instead decide that you are going to make it work. ASV is the best therapy for central sleep apnea and obstructive sleep apnea. But it takes time to adjust to it. And it often takes some real tweaking to make it work. We are not yelling at you ... rather we want you to succeed and attain the best sleep possible.
