What do the values mean?

Post by Escape143 » Thu Apr 19, 2012 7:35 pm

Hi,
I am a "newbe" of about 2 months. I was wondering if anyone could show me where to find what the valueds on my CPAP machine mean...I have an average of 14.8 with AHI and a 14.0 with the 90% preasure reading. Maybe a past post would do for an explaination. As always, thanks for all of the great support and information on this site!

Are you using a Respironics machine? If so what model...do you see System One on it somewhere?
Are you using software or information off the LCD screen on the machine?

If it is a Respironics machine the AHI number available on the machine is a 7 day and 30 day average and the 90% pressure just means that for 90 % of the time you were at OR below that pressure.

To fully evaluate the data we need software reports. If you have a System One machine you can use the software that I have in my signature...links are all there.

Please add your equipment to your profile so we don't have to ask what you are using each time

Finally...the AHI is higher than we would want to see. The goal is for AHI less than 5.
To comment any further on how or why or what to do...we really need to see the software reports. and the AHI breakdown into event category.

the 14.0 90% pressure reading is that you spend 90% of your time at 14.0 pressure or under.

your AHI of 14.8... well... an AHI of 5 to 15 is mild... 15 to 30 is moderate... and above 30 is severe

So in my opinion if it was me anyways an AHI of 14.8 wouldn't be good enough.
