Ok I have been using the mask for about a week now, a little sore nose but nothing to worry about. I use the S8 elite and select the new mask set up in the machine. and even though my numbers are ok, I am feeling tired.... I had a day on saturday that I was just shot as far as emotions are going, crying for no reason.... No I am not depressed, but perhaps a few days on the new mask is not working as well as t he old mask
If I use the setting for the old mask with the new mask it sound like a jet airplane, but if I set the machine to the new has it is quiet.......Hmmmm 11. mmHG is 11. mmhg why does the machine cut down the airflow when selecting the the swift setting?
I guess I am worried that the new mask ( even though the number say good) isn't doing the trick.
The reason why I switched from the Mirage activa, is that the bridge of the nose comes very close to my eyes and doesn't allow fluid to drain from under my eyes while I sleep. So i wake up with big bags under my eyes.....
So I am looking for a quite mask as quiet as the activa yet no cause baggy eye problems......any ideas anyone?

Re: swift nose pillow
You bring up a good topic!
It appears your old and new mask is a nasal mask. I got rid of my nasal mask due to nose bridge soreness and the mark/scar it left. You can try using the PR Trublue. It worked perfect for me despite the marks and soreness.
My pressure is set at 9. During my sleep study I used a nasal mask. Now that I have switched over to nasal pillows, I wonder if the pressure needs to change? My original nasal mask was PR Trublue and am now using Resmed Swift FX Nasal pillows. Machine is PR.
Any help is appreciated.

Re: swift nose pillow
There should be no need to change the pressure setting when changing mask models. Especially when changing between over the nose mask vs nasal pillow mask. A few people report needing a bit more pressure when going to a full face mask from a nasal interface mask but for the most part....no need to change pressure with changing masks. 9 cm of pressure is 9 cm of pressure no matter which mask is used.
Regarding OP comment about the perception of change in pressure delivered initially when starting the S8 and the choice of models there should not be any difference in the pressure delivered because that setting is for calculation of leak rate and not related to pressure delivered.
There should be no difference in pressure when using a nasal pillow mask and changing back and forth in the mask selection feature on the machine itself between nasal mask interface models.
Now different masks can have a different perception in pressure being delivered.
But if the only change is in mask selection...the pressure perception should not change.
