resmed s9 adapt

Post by SneakerPumpernicle » Wed Apr 11, 2012 7:44 am

Hi!
I have a resmed s9 adapt, I just started on it last night. Had to fight for it, they wanted to stick me with a giagantic older model.

there are 2 things with the machine that concern me and I was hoping you might be able to tell me if they are normal/abnormal

1. The machine still blows air lightly even when it is powered off. is this for cooling ???
2. I hear a slight quiet "Eeee""Eeee" noise while i'm breathing from within the machine.

Thank you So much !!

Abe

The ResMed machines do this. More to dry out the hose and lessen chance for residual moisture being in the hose.

Very slight motor noise wouldn't be impossible. Sounds can be conducted via the hose to your face.
Might try setting the machine away from you a bit more or setting it on something that will help absorb any sounds...like a large mouse pad or even a folded up towel.
If it is loud enough to disturb your sleep...check with your DME to make sure that you don't have a lemon.
These machines are fairly quiet and noise is minimal but not totally absent. Some people are more sensitive to certain sounds than others.

Hi Abe,

Welcome the forum.

You have set up your UserName and profile; however, you need to add your equipment. The ResMed S9 VPAP Adapt SV is NOT part of the machine list, so you will need to add it to the ADDITIONAL COMMENTS LINE.

As a new ASV user, you will probably be posting frequently. The machine information will assist posters with their responses.

You have a great machine. Best of luck with your therapy!

I have an Adapt and haven't noticed any noises except for a single creak of a noise when it kicks into high gear (pressure). I feel like it may be the seal on the humidifier door. It happens once and does not continue. I haven't noticed the air blowing when it is off, I'll check it out.

Awesome machine - I'm approaching 40 days and "loving" it.
