Resmed S9 Climateline hose issues

Post by MobyTheMinnow » Mon Apr 09, 2012 9:14 pm

Hi everyone,
first post. I am looking for some ideas on the Resmed S9 Auto Cpap, I just got it and I am not a newbie to Cpap. I am having issues with the hose acting up and the power acting up. It either says often please install the climateline hose or please install a 90 watt power supply. Is there something I am doing wrong? I removed the rubber piece where the electrical on those hose is and mated the hose into the place it is supposed to seat. Anyone with some experience with the S9 would be great thanks.

Hi,

Check the black box on your power supply and make sure it says 90 Watt. They do make a 30 Watt power supply that is for using the machine without the humidifier. Also you may want to check with wherever you bought it to have them send it back it has a two year warranty. If the machine is already giving you issues it may have a defect.

Hope that helps,

I have FINALLY figured this out. The problem is the RESMED S9 POWER BRICK NEEDS TO BE ON A NON-FLOORING SURFACE for example CARPET or a RUG IS A NO NO. I guess tile, wood, and laminated floor is okay but who has that in their bedroom except the nightstand. Somewhere in instructions I never recieved it states this. This will fix the issues. What a pain in my butt.

Mine gets pretty warm, I had to find a place for it, since the headboard above my head was not a good choice.... Waking up in the middle of the night because the power supply clocked you on the head isn't good.

Mine has been on the carpet under my bed for a year and a half with no problems what so ever. Where did you read that?

Displays error message: Check ResMed 30/90W Power Supply Unit and fully insert the
connector The power supply unit is being covered by bedding. Make sure that the power supply unit is free from bedding, clothes or other objects that could cover it.

This message includes: CARPET.

There's is a difference between being covered up and sitting on top of something. Mine sits on top of the carpet and never has a problem. If it's covered up it will heat up and good cause a problem.

Well I have shag carpeting and it doesnt like it. So It took a long time to figure out this issue and it is not something to do with the Resmed S9 Autopap with Heated Humidifier being bad. It has to do with the quirky 90 watt power supply.

Yes there is difference between a shag carpet and a short pile carpet. Glad you found the problem.

I have had this unit for 3 years and it has worked perfectly until Saturday night in the middle of the night. I took it to the DME place today and it ran like a champ. They replaced the power supply (for free) anyway just to be safe. I got home and plugged it in and almost immediately it began to display this error message again. I plugged it into an outlet in the kitchen and the living room and the same results. I looked on the Internet to see if other users are experiencing this problem and after reading this post I placed the power supply on the kitchen counter (which is not carpet) and the same thing happened so I don't think carpeting is the problem. I'm calling the DME place tomorrow and having them replace the machine. I use my machine every night so this has been a rough couple of nights without it.

Did the problem start just as the weather is getting warmer?

I expect the 90W power supply is getting to warm and shutting down or at least telling the S9 to turn off the heater.

An easy fix is put the power supply brick on anything else. A plate, block of wood or phone book should work fine.
