How Do I...?

Post by Marilyn » Fri Mar 10, 2006 9:40 pm

1. How do I dry the condensation out of my tubing? I have tried disconnecting it from the unit and hanging it over the door. That didn't do it.

2.When I get up in the night take off the mask and shut off the machine while I go to the bathroom, does that automatically turn off the humidifier too.? Do I need to reset it?

How about a hair drier set on cool, a few minutes should do it.

Turning the machine off turns off the HH too, You have to turn it on again.

A light on the front comes on when the heater is active.

Have you tried to vacuum one end? I think it might do a fast job.

The hair dryer didn't work either and my vacuum doesn't have a hose for it.
I have not been about to sleep more than a few hours with the machine on. It seems that once I wake up in a couple of hours I am unable to go back to sleep with the mask on.

I let the machine run into the hose (disable the alarm if you have one).
The drawback is that this skews your leak and usage data.

I do the same thing. In the morning after I empty the humidifier, I just reconnect the hose and run the machine for 30 minutes or so. This blows the leftover water out of the humidifier chamber and prevents damaging condensation from forming in the Remstar as well as removing any moisture that might be in the hose.

The Remstar runs full blast this way, but the data never gets recorded. At least I never see it in either Encore Pro or MyEncore results. Of course, now that I think about it, I always remove the Smart Card before turning the machine back on. The machine runs while I'm downloading the Smart Card and when I get done I come back, turn the machine OFF and reinsert the Smart Card. Works for me! .

Regards,
Bill

The downsides are, the hours the machine to dry the hose are wearing the machine out the same as if it was treating you, and removing the smartcard puts added wear and tear on the contacts. (Don't mind me, I'm a "X" mechanic, and it's second nature for me to make maxium use of everything)

I can't understand how air moving through the hose from a hair dryer won't dry it out, maybe the warm setting, but not too warm.
