high leak rate / quattro // res med auto9

I'm very frustrated. Recently my res med auto mask fit icon shows smiley faces both at night and in the morning, indicating there are no serious leaks. But the leak rate shows up as over 30 and I wake up feeling crummy -- even though my ahi is supposedly low. I've been using a full-face Quattro mask and for a while it was really successful. Tomorrow I'm going to try out some nasal masks to try out and maybe that will be better. I've watched all the YouTube videos about how to fit the Quattro mask and tried everything they suggest.

Unless you are stuck with an Escape, ignore Mr Smiley/Frowny, and go straight to the data.
The deeper you go, the more you know.

Keep in mind that Mr. Red Frowny will show up only if you are leaking at a rate of 24 L/min or more the for at least 30% of the night.

So---if you have the mask on for 8 hours, you have to have a leak rate of 24 L/min ( or more) for at least 2.4 hour during the night. That's 2 hours and 24 minutes of large leaks before Mr. Frowny shows up in the morning.

In other words, if Mr. Red Frowny shows up, you know you've got a very serious problem with large leaks.

If Mr. Green Smiley shows up, all you can conclude is that the leaks were not dreadful. You have to look at the median 95% leak rate figures to really determine whether you've got no real problem with leaks.
