I have a photo for you to see my latest invention but I can't figure out how to upload it on here.
I have issues with my cpap mask straps irritating my skin and causing my head to break out.
It can get quite raw and painful. Sure I have tried covering the plastic with the velcro covers but it doesn't work enough for my sensitive skin/head.
So I devised a method to wear my nasal pillows without having to have anything wrap around my head.
I use the ResMed Swift Fx mask. I believe it is one of the thinnest strap systems on the market. It is made of rubber, silicone or some type of plastic. It feels soft but my head still breaks out. Probably due to night sweats.
I have discovered that if I poke holes into each side of the tabs on the nasal pillow part, Poke a new soft, cotton hair elastic thru the hole and thru itself again to create a secured loop, I can add another similar but slightly larger hair elastic (looped thru the first one), to make the length long enough to wrap around my ears.
Whola! Nothing around my head and it holds the mask on.
Granted the elastics due stretch with time and have to be replaced. However, the process is simple and the result is a painless head!
It's not perfect and has to be adjusted accordingly. But it's an option.

I'd like to see that new contraption, I use the headset and sometimes laying on my side the plastic of the headset is uncomforable.

Sleep therapy changed my life for the better, never knew how bad it was before I got hooked to "the machine".

Hmmm, I have the Bella Loops and love them, except for when the edge of the plastic gets jammed into the crease of my ear. Maybe I can work up the inspiration to try something similar. They make really soft hair elastices that should work better than the loops.
