New Mask

Post by Stratman » Sun Apr 01, 2012 5:17 am

I have been a CPAP user for 5 year now. Tried a couple of nasal masks when I first started.

I use a Resmed S8 Autoset II in CPAP mode at 9cm pressure.

The last 4 years has been a Ultra Mir Full Face Mask. I have always had to use a chin strap with it. My mouth would open and even with the full face mask I would get air leaks out the bottom.

Switched to a Mirage Quatro Full Face Mask a couple of days ago. For me a big difference. The extra adjustment on the nose bridge really helped me. Also, I no longer have to use a chin strap with this setup. Leakage down to close to zero.

I am sure everyone is different but I would sure recommend trying as many different masks as you can.

Ahhhhh, life is good this week..............

Yeah, Stratman, the Quattro was always my favorite mask until the skin on the bridge of my nose broke down. This was before they came out with the comfort pads for the nose. Glad you found a mask you like. Finding the right mask sure made things easier for me.

Mary,

I found I had to tweak the dial a little bit to reduce the pressure on the nose bridge but not so much that it started leaking. So far no issues with the skin on the bridge of my nose.
