S9 humidity tweaks for stuffy nose?

Post by Bob00762 » Thu Mar 29, 2012 10:49 am

Hi,
I'm going through my seasonal allergy season. I wake up unable to breathe through my nose very well and lately find myself waking up in the middle of the night removing my nasal pillows, probably because I'm having difficulty breathing. After I wake up in the morning, my nose clears up after about 5-10 minutes of breathing without the pillows. I do not have this problem at other times of the year. I'm wondering if tweaking the humidity on the S9 would help. Any advise?

Thanks,

Bob

It wouldn't hurt to try. Some people do better with less humidity and some do better with more humidity. So if you already use a rather low setting might increase things a bit. If using a higher setting you might decrease things a bit. If you are already using sort of middle ....toss a coin but if playing the odds..I think from what I have read is that more humidity is the most common.

Might also consider what you can do prior to bedtime to help keep nasal mucosa from swelling up.
Nasal rinses...OTC meds...stuff like that.
Also..keep the nasal mucosa well hydrated with something like Simple Saline nose spray during the day.

hey Bob..I have the same seasonal issues. You didn't memtion what humidity setting you were presently set on, but from the info in your post, I would turn it down a notch or two. Maybe even off. Too much humidity may be stuffing your nose.
