CPAP and bedroom antics

Post by crookneez » Wed Mar 28, 2012 9:22 pm

This has probably been dealt with before but I thought I'd ask the question to get recent info.
Some years ago I went to have my teeth cleaned by a lovely young American dental hygienist (she was married to an Aussie and living permanently in Australia).
When I sat in the chair she checked the form I'd completed that indicated I had Sleep Apnea and used a CPAP.
She made the comment "Its devastating on your sex life isn't it." to which I really had no reply at the time.

The fact is though, I'd be telling porky's if I said that wearing SCUBA gear to bed every night didn't have a negative effect on our love life.
It seemed to take away the spontaneity of lovemaking, all of a sudden things had to be planned.

What have others found in this regard? (if it's not too personal a question)

Ummmm.... how long does it take to remove your mask and turn of the machine - if you REALLY want to? Not long, but worth it!

Or, you could role-play as a scuba-diver

Doesn't interfere with any bedroom 'antics' in my house. I think you just have to make it work for you.

Cheers,
xena

I just don't get it. I don't hose up (CPAP wise) until It's time to zonk out.

Many teenagers have no bed in which to experiment due to living situations. It has never stopped them.

Doesn't untreated apnea contribute to ED?
Under the circumstances, I would consider CPAP rather sexy.

Yes and many male members have ... err ... risen to the challenge.... after starting cpap therapy

I can say my boyfriend has umm.... felt a ton better I know this is hard(no pun intended) on a guy's ego. After a month or so on the machine I have my honey back...he is not as grumpy anymore...I can only be patient and somehow try to understand that this is tough enough being so tired, as long as he is healthy and breathing our future looks bright
