intellipap data module. card must be in for data

For a week or so I had my SD card out of my data module in the back of the Devilbiss Intellipap. using sleepyhead, I cannot get any data from the card for that period, only the previous period and the last few days with the card in the data module.
therefore the Intellipap doesnt record data in the machine (it must record something to get that SmatLCode and LCD information) and transfer it when the card it is in.
or am I doing something wrong, a make new user for Sleepyhead perhaps?
