I was fitted with a full face mask because I get stuffy during the night. On nights when my nasal passage stays some what clear I register a AHI below 1.0, and feel great. When I am stuffy, most nights, I mouth breath and register high CA's , an AHI of 4 to 6.0 and feel like hell.
I have tried nasal sprays, hot showers, nette pot and everything that comes to mind. Any other suggestions...
Thanks

OTC nasal meds, even though I'm not supposed to for heart reasons I use them every night. Jim

Re: Help, stuffy and a FFM
Hi,
I used to be stuffy all the time. Since I started using a nasal pillow mask (the Swift LT), my sinuses are wide open. Being able to breathe through my nose, especially in the morning, is a whole new experience for me. I am not sure why this worked for me. It might be the pressure keeping the passages clear, or it might be the drying effect of the air movement.

Go to your pharmacy and get a NeilMed nasal rinse....it will completely clear your nose....THEN use the nasal sprays.

In addition to what "LSAT" suggested, try turning your humidifier setting way down or off ("passover" humidification).lovescuba wrote:I was fitted with a full face mask because I get stuffy during the night. The cooler air may keep your nasal passages open. Too much humidity can actually make nasal congestion worse.
Which nasal sprays? I hope it's not Afrin. That stuff will cause a rebound effect and make your stuffiness worse.
