New Auto Machine

Post by The Dreamer » Wed Feb 29, 2012 7:55 pm

I went and picked up a new S9 AutoSet with heated humidifier today, when I got it home and hooked it up I couldn’t stand the weird loud sounds it made when I breathed in and out. I took it back and traded it for a IntelliPAP AutoAdjust Machine with heated humidifier.

The IntelliPAP is so quit I didn’t think it was running, and has no weird sounds when I breathed in and out. This machine also has a 5 year warranty.

I’ve had 4 different AutoAdjust Machine ResMed and Respironics but I believe this is the best one that I’ve ever had. It has a grate setup on the heated humidifier.

I just bought the Devilbiss Intellipap Auto too! And you are right, it is an excellent machine. Very, very quiet and only the faintest whisper of air flow through the tubing. Unless you are the one using the machine, you would never know it was turned on.

The unit is very compact too, which I like for traveling. I don't have much experience with lots of other machines, like some on this site, but from what I've experienced, the Intellipap is very easy to get used to and seems solidly built.

Now, when it comes to the pricing, I'm kind of disappointed that Devilbiss has forced sellers to raise the price recently. I understand that they want to enforce a minimum price on their dealers (that's what every seller wants, right?), but that eliminates all competition over price in the market -- which means that customers are the ones bearing the burden.

Still the machine is a good value, even at the higher prices, so I guess I can't be too upset with them. I hope they use the extra money to make more improvements to their product line.

because half fried my Intellipap (my fault though a fuse in the machine would be a nice preventative for 12v wrong polarity pushers like me)... it now makes a wheezing sound on inhallation. Ive put the machine in a bedside cuboard with a pillow in front of it (enough air gets through) so I dont have to listen to it. if I were you, for a few reasons, I would have stuffed the S9 into a cuboard and soundproffed it.

(and Sleepyhead spftware works swell with the Intellipap btw)
