AHI Readings
AHI Readings
When I was tested, I was told I have both obstructive and central apnea. As a result, I am using a RESMED S9/Hi5. When I first started using it, I did have non zero AHI's but they seemed to disappear after a few days of using the machine. Then for over a month, my AHI was consistently zero. Is this the result of using the BI-PAP? If not, what does this mean?

What was your AHI on your sleep study?agi wrote:When I was tested, I was told I have both obstructive and central apnea. As a result, I am using a RESMED S9/Hi5. Also, later when you have the time and inclination, would you please insert your equipment selections on your profile page?

Re: AHI Readings
There has been some history with the ResMed machines getting "stuck" reporting the same thing night after night. Some of the stuck numbers were AHI 0.0 which can happen but it is improbable to have the same thing night after night.
Try unplugging the machine from electric source. Wait a minute or so...plug back it. This forces the machines firmware to "reboot" like we do when we reboot a computer when it acts whacko.
Then see what tonight's data shows tomorrow. It won't change the past night's data but it may put the machine back on track.

Re: AHI Readings
imo, the machine malfunctions and I would take it back to your provider for "calibration".agi wrote:When I was tested, I was told I have both obstructive and central apnea. Re: AHI Readings
Same thing happened to my S9 after 3 days. It reported 0.0 for another few days until I reset it (Power cord out for a few seconds and back in). Has worked fine since. If you unplug it to take it back to DME it will likely start working anyway when you power it back on. So try the reset yourself. Only the AHI report appears to be affected the rest of the data recorded ok through the 0.0 days.

Re: AHI Readings
My first S9 gave me mostly 0.0 readings for the first 3 weeks. I turned it in and got another one which gave me one valid reading and 3 nights of 0.0. Then my Dr. raised my pressure and the 0.ut the readings were mostly between 7 and 13. I wasn't feeling any better. Last Fri, we raised my pressure again. I have started feeling a little better and my AHI is is dropping closer to 5.
My machine is a S9 VPAP S.
