Newbie in Maryland

Post by k3roj » Sun Feb 26, 2012 2:45 pm

OK, this forum is somewhat different since I supoose it is so busy. I did make a post yesterday but can't find it. Anyway, I tried my CPAP mask again last night (Saturday Night) which sealed nicely but in about 3 hours my wife awakened me saying my mask was makimg noises again. I can hold the mask up against my face and the leak noises goes away but as soon as I relax again, it starts and have to take it off. I went though the sleeping tests, was fitted for my mask and was told I would have a better life but now my wife and I are awakened with the terrible air leak noises. I know my sleeping pattern is recorded on the SD card but that is no help to me. Any answers? Thanks

Please fill in your equipment profile so people will be better able to help you.
There are a number of mask liners that may help with fit. Quietus, RemZzzs, PAD- a-Cheek. Otherwise it just takes time, adjusting, and perhaps a new mask if the one you have doesn't fit properly.
Perhaps your bed pillow is the problem. Good luck.

Welcome to the Forums

It takes time and experience to get everything working right. As most "fittings" are done in a seated position they aren't truly fit right. You going to have to play with the mask to get it to work while laying down and or on your side. Hit the User Control Panel, go to your Profile and put in your equipment. In this way we can better help you via personal experience with your gear. There is a lot of equipment on the market and they all have specific needs. By listing your gear the people who have that gear can browse through the posts and target you for help, not everyone knows everything about all machines, not even your Doctor or RT.

Yep, like Mary said, knowing what equipment you are using will help a lot.
