Measuring for nasal pillows?

How exactly do they do that?

The nasal pillows come with 3 sizes included......for me (female), there were an XS, S, and M. It is a matter of trying them to see what is comfortable and what provides the best air flow without leaking. I personally love the nasal pillows. I could not adjust to the nasal mask......clastrophobic
I was so relieved to find the pillows so comfortable.........
