What is an acceptable leak rate?

Post by jmcsmomma » Thu Feb 23, 2012 8:54 pm

I feel like the past month that I am waking a LOT at night with leaks and face farts.I'm starting to have trouble with stomach aches and pains again. My leaks have been on the high side I think. I've had the same mask and seal for a year. Is it time to change? I'll try to add a graph shortly.

Image This is all I have. The ahi isn't the issue, it is,"Is this enough leak to keep waking me up repeatedly each night?"

Yes, it looks like the recent leaks ARE a problem. And note: A leak does not need to be large enough to be flagged to be a "Large Leak" for it to be enough to wake you up repeatedly each night. It just needs to be irritating enough.

You also write:

Yes, it's time to change. Indeed, it may be several months past time to change.

I guess I didn't understand the question.

I thought it was about whether it was time to look for a different style of mask, but I see now it was about the age of the mask itself.

Sorry.

http://www.resmed.com/us/assets/documen ... sa_eng.pdf

A link for Resmed Masks for pressure vs Flow rates. It will give you a base line idea of around where your leak rate should be vs pressure.

Here is the Flow rates for your mask scroll down to the infomation on the english side Under Technical Specs.
