Stuffed nose, stuffed ears, what to do

Post by TheRyGuy » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:04 pm

I've always had stuffed ears. I need to go to an ENT every year to get the wax sucked out of both ears (Sorry, I know TMI). But recently my nose has been getting clogged too. When I plug my nose and blow, it creates a pretty crazy pressure inside my head and against my ears. Seems that everything is a little stuck.

I warm up my humidifier before putting my mask on, and I use a 3.0 to 3.5 humidity level depending on the night.

I have NO allergies but I was thinking about buying a neti pot and a saline nasal spray. Thoughts?

I think both are good ideas... nightly netipot irrigation and a saline nasal spray (like Ocean) during the day to keep things moist. If your stuffiness is only recent, maybe it is just dryness and you need to keep things from drying out.

However, if your ears are blocked a lot of the time maybe more frequent ENT visits might be in order. He might recommend decongestants or other meds that could help.
