H5i humidifier cover

Post by newname » Thu Feb 16, 2012 1:31 pm

Is the cover supposed to come off every time I open it to fill the water tub? Mine comes off the back hinges. I'm not sure if it's defective? Does this happen to all the H5i humidifiers? I have a hard time figuring out how to et it back on correctly? I've only had it a couple of weeks so if it is defective I would send it back for a replacement. Help please.

After reading your post, I went in and checked mine. I opened it, unsnapped the plastic hinges, took off the inner silicone cover, replaced it, and snapped the hinges back into place. You'll probably be fine if you just make sure that the two hinges snap back into place. Pretty simple stuff. Check to see if one of the hinge pieces is cracked or broken off. Check the hinge half on the door itself, and also on the back of the humidifier. If not, it's the user. Ciao.

Mine pops off the back hinges every now and then. I just snap it back in.

If the cover is coming off, you are opening it too far back.
That is the only way to make it come off of the hinges.

I did that a couple of times.
Now, I am more careful & not opening it as forceably.
