Kind of creepy, wasn't it? I've had trouble with the shower too but I usually call the front desk.

I've had a desk lady escort me *into* my room and linger, smiling, explaining everything, I've had guys with automatic weapons stationed outside my door, but I've never been taken by a maid into someone ELSE's room ! Just strange.

I've got to hear the reason for that.

Were they there to keep the bad guys out or to keep you in?

Hehehe... I'm an "International Man of Mystery" and it was to keep the bad guys out. Actually, it was in Mumbai at a pretty nice hotel near the pretty-not-nice airport (worst in the world, I'd say, but they are remodeling it) and I think the hotel was showing "Good Customer Service" by "protecting" me with a guy in a chair with some assault weapon next to my door. You, know, symbolically making you feel "safe" (ahem). Later, I saw the guy across the court yard sitting by another door, probably a new comer to the hotel as well.

When we went to Oahu, Hawaii we were in a timeshare of my parents. We didn't know til sometime in the middle of the vacation that by opening a door we had access to another bedroom. That night we slept in the other bedroom which was further from the front door.
One night, it was very breezy so much so that the wind was causing a vent to flap back and forth, which I have heard a dozen times back home. Some reason that particular night I couldn't figure out what it was. I stepped outside in the hall to listen if that was where the sound was coming from. I'll be danged if I lost control of the door and locked myself out Mind you its the middle of the night and DH can't hear me knocking and knocking on the door to let me in, he's fast asleep. THANKFULLY, I was wearing my Garfield jammies and had to walk to the front desk barefoot to have security let me in our room. I go to the front door stating my case, the guy gets on his walkie talkie and says, "We have another lockout." Low and behold a man who looks like Hulk Hogan's twin lets me back into my room. I asked him if he needed to see any ID, he said "No, have a good evening Mam." I was sooo embarassed My only saving grace was that I wasn't wearing my VERY sexy jammies. DH never heard a thing. The next morning, he couldn't stop laughing so hard

NOTE: Surprised I still remember in detail.

My mom and dad went for a romantic weekend and were in an end unit
with a balcony. So they decide since no one can see them to "sunbath" nude
on the balcony. Unfortunately, the sliding door locked and they were stuck out
there. After waiting several hrs for someone to passby with no luck and a
thunderstorm brewing....my dad went over the balcony fence, mom threw him
a fold up lounger ( the kind with the plastic woven strips) and he " wrapped" it around his waist and had to walk to the tiki bar for assistance!!!
We still laugh about this 20 yrs later

This is turning out to be one of the best OT threads on the forum!

Is there a contest on or something?

Creepy! I'm sitting in my hotel reading this thread. I looked up at my Respironics machine next to my bed. I think I'm going to go clean my machine....AGAIN!
