URGENT... Data Card????

Post by Guest » Fri Feb 03, 2012 12:44 am

Hi there,

I just got back from my sleepstudy with cpap. Major improvement. My Dr. office has me on a loaner until my machine arrives.

I just realized she forgot to put the card back in. It's a RemStar Auto A-flex. The machine seems to work.

This card is for RECORDING data... Not anything that controls how much pressure I get... RIGHT????

Ok... going with that... and going to bed! I'm beat!

I can't believe I love this damn machine... But the quality of sleep is unlike anything I dreamed possible!

The machine will work fine without the card, if the pressure setting was set correctly.

Even if they didn't set the pressure up correctly, it probably won't hurt you and will be better than no CPAP at all.

In the future, your doctor can put new pressure settings on a card, and when you put the card in the machine, the pressure settings will change to the new settings. If you remove the card, the machine will still remember the settings.

The fact they didn't put the card in is a sure sign that they are truly concerned with your treatment. NOT!, Strike One. Jim
But it will run as set without a card, they probably weren't knowing enough to set it from the card anyway.

I don't know about your machine, but any SD card from a camera seems to work fine in the ResMed brand units and it appears that yours uses the same type of card. If your concerned about recording for the night, and a standard camera one would fit, plug it in and see if it gives you a message about resetting the card and tell it yes. Just get the smallest SD card you can find. A new 2 gig is about $5 but an old 128k card should keep plenty of data until you can get the proper card back.

I think the waveform is not recorded though. But AHI data etc..., yes no pb, they are stored on the onboard memory and copied on the card when inserted.

Depends on if it's a newer model or an older model. The newer models... or PR S1's (Phillips Respironics System One's) have SD cards, the older ones... could be an M series... would use a Smart Card. The Smart Card's won't store anything without a card.

No, you are fine. If you really want data, put a camera sd card in. They are the same thing.
