Corrupted ResMed card & tingling in fingertips

Post by Matty332 » Fri Jan 27, 2012 11:50 pm

Hello,

Thanks for anyone who is helping out another rank newbie! I am going to go back to the retailer to get some support on Monday but thought I'd seek help in the mean time in case I can sort it out myself.

With the Autoset RESMED S9 software RESCAN V 3.14, has anyone had trouble downloading the data into the program using a 3rd party SD card reader? I can view the contents of the SD card manually within windows XP and apparently one file is corrupted but the Resmed software can't read any of it and when it tries - the D: drive directory linking to the card disappears??

Also has anyone with OSA had a symptom of waking up with pins and needles in the tips of the fingers that gets better and dissapears after 1-2 hours?

thanks in advance

Try SleepHead software. Links in my signature.

Pins and needles? Happens often to my arm or forearm or hand if I have lain in a position to put a crimp or pressure on a nerve. Position can also aggravate existing carpal tunnel syndrome.

Only relation I can think of to OSA or cpap therapy is that when we use the machine we are apt to sleep more soundly with less tossing and turning (stay in one spot longer) and thus increase the chance of having some minor numbness because we lay on a nerve funny and it "goes to sleep".

This really isn't a symptom of OSA that I know of. It is a symptom of either neurological issues or spinal issues.

I found this article after about five minutes of googling.

I would make sure you exercise and get your vitamins. (According to this page, exercise can also trigger it. YMMV, I've actually had temporary paresthesia go away from regular exercise.)

If you remove your SD card from th S9 without turning off the machine, you will corrupt the caed. You will need to format the SD card. You will lose all the data on the card but ResScan will have saved the summary data. I had the same problem when I got my new S9. Hope that solves your problem.
