Or the Quattro FX

I have both of these mask and although they are very different I still think that the Mirrage Quatrro is a far better fit

I have them both and prefer the Mirage Quattro. The FX is more comfortable but after a couple of hours it just starts leaking like crazy. Sometimes I don't even have to change positions before it starts leaking. Hope this helps.

I voted for the Quattro FX as that's been my mask of choice for about 3 months now. I can't honestly say which is best though as I've never tried the Quattro. I get a good comfortable fit with the FX with very low leak rates. I like it's smaller footprint versus the Quattro and didn't want a full face mask with a forehead support bar if I could avoid it. I've only tried Resmed masks starting with the Swift FX, then the Liberty hybrid, then the Quattro FX. If the FX hadn't worked for me, I might have tried the Quattro, but see no need to now. Different strokes for different folks but I've been very happy with the FX!

I've only used the Quattro so I have no way of knowing which is BEST. I did not vote!

I have a weird face--(couldn'tcha tell just by looking?)
None of the Resmed full face products work on me.
I love my Swift FX, --Respironics comfortgel or F/P ff432 for my congested nights.
Working to get my Respironics fulllife to seal a little better.
No Quattros in my life.

Same story here.
One thing I find annoying is that you can be doing well with the Quattro and not change any settings, and all of a sudden some new leak out of a new area just springs up for no apparent reason. For me usually fixed by a quick re-adjust and back to sleep.

Try using the Quattro FX with the Quattro Headgear. The design of the Quattro Headgear seems to pull the bridge cushion of the Quattro FX closer to the bridge of your nose. Tighten the straps.

I just feel after using the FX thats its far more uncomfortable than the mirage. These are the only two masks I have tried in over 2 years and the reason I tried it was because of forums like this. Im cobstanly bombarded with people raving about this mask and that masks bells and whistles that I ask to try an fx. It felt very strange at first and also felt like it didnt fit right (It did) I though there are many types of mask out there but as the saying goes, "Stick with what you know" Im now back with my mirage Quattro as to me its the Land Rover of the mask world a real off roader and will take lots of abuse before it gives you any problems. I think what we all could do with is a company to do a mask roadshow so we can try all the masks on without fear of wasting an awfull lot of money.

This thread piqued my curiosity and I just found a very good deal on a new Mirage Quattro on Craigslist. So, maybe in another week or two I can give a true comparison of the two and which I believe is best for me. I think it will be hard to beat my experience thus far with the Quattro FX, but I'm always open to the possibility of a better mask.

This thread got me thinking....I have a quattro and a Respcare hybrid. I have been using the hybrid for about a year and the quattro once in awhile. With the hybrid, I like the part that there is nothing past my nares, but you have to snug it down pretty tight to keep it stable..thus lots of face dents in the morning. Had my quattro on last night, hate the part near my eyes, makes them swell and run....no face marks as it doesn't have to be snugged down at all. My ahi and leak line are identical with both masks. Soooooo, now have to decide which mask I prefer to use....or maybe its one week on a nd one week off Which is worse face dents or swelly eyes .
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

Nan,
Your story is almost identical to mine. I've been using the Hybrid for about 3 months now and thought i'd found the mask for me. However, over the last few weeks, i've started feeling a lot worse even though my stats were still good with the Hybrid. Last night, i dug out the old Quattro and put it on again. I've got the pad a cheek mask liner and also the pad a cheek anti leak strap attached from when i last used it. I forgot how annoying the anti leak strap was. It kept pulling the mask upwards as well as irritating my ears. I ended up taking the strap off and the leaks didn't seem to get any worse. The weird thing is that my data from the Quattro is vastly better than the Hybrid. My ahi was always around 2 with the Hybrid however last night with the Quattro, it was 0.7. Also, my pressure needs to be a lot higher with the Hybrid than with the Quattro and i'm not sure why. I do like the Hybrid as there's less mask however i do have to really clamp it down. Quattro - more mask and it irritates my eyes however better data. Decisions, decisions.

I started off with the FX but just had too many leaks with it. I have the Quattro now and so far it is ok. It isn't perfect though. I still get several leaks on some nights. But the forehead piece seems to help stabilize it a lot and helps with leaks. I'm a side sleeper so I think that is the cause of the problems for the FX.

I tried both masks at the DME a few years back, but they leaked like there was no tomorrow. Saying this mask is better than this one is like saying these shoes are the best. People's face structure is different... Finding the best mask for you (the most comfortable and doesn't leak) is the key... Just sayin'
