Hey guys!
GOt my CPAP two days ago. Resmed S8 Elite and Swift mask. Like it really well. Sleep like a rock. Don't roll over at all. Rolled back and forth all my life till now.
Do you guys ever have a bad day even with the CPAP? The last two days were great but today I woke up tired. Took a nap with CPAP and feel a little better but not as good as the last two days.
Got my CPAP!
My first few days were wonderful too. I think it was because my brain was so thirsty for real sleep.
After a few weeks (I started Feb 8th,) I'll have a strange night or two. Nothing like the nights B.C. (before C-PAP.)
Other factors play a roll... stress, worries, restless cats!
Are you using a sleep medication? Trazodone or Ambien do the trick for me. Sometimes I take both.
It may take time for the body/brain to settle into a routine.
Good Luck!
PS: Now that you have your equipment, don't forget to list it in your profile.

I've had mine 10 days so I'm still sorting it out but I am getting more adjusted to the "routine."
I think I'm feeling better - at least I'm dreaming a lot more. For me it's not a huge difference but I know the quality of my sleep is improving. The jury is out still on energy levels, etc.
I think sleep is very much a routine. Having a new machine and a mask to get used to including the ritual of cleaning and getting ready for sleep are all new behaviors.
I think when it becomes second nature, just like pulling down the covers, that's when you'll have become truly acclimated.
Checking out your numbers with the software is sure to give you an objective measure of how you're doing also.
Best,
Tom
