Hi to all, im from the US & have been trying to use a CPAP for 6 years.
Ive finally gotten serious about it in the last few months & have been fairly successful in getting used to it & even preferring to sleep with it than without it.
I currently use a Resmed S8 AutoSet Vantage with an Hi4 kit & a Swift II mask.
Im looking at purchasing a new Resmed S9 AutoSet with the Hi5 humidifier on line.
Can I assume that everyone here thinks that CPAP.Com is "THE" online shopping site to use? If so, who would be your 2nd & 3rd choice of online shopping sites? Im trying to give myself a reference for comparison.
I will admit that CPAP.Com at first glance seems to be more user oriented & friendly & just the forum alone is different from from CPAP-Supply.com & CPAPShop.com. If either of those sites have a forum, I missed it.
Can anyone advise me about the good & the bad of any of the three? Or any that I havent mentioned?
I do have another question regarding the Resmed CPAP machine. Does anyone have an opinion regarding the S8 Autoset II compared to the S9 Autoset? My S8 has been a good machine & I worry that like most companies making anything these days, that maybe the Resmed S9 is not of the same quality as the Resmed S8. Like maybe due to cost the quality control or parts just arent what they used to be...
Thanks in advance for all opinions & suggestions.

Re: Hello, Im new to the forum...
I can't compare the S8 to the S9 but I can tell you the S9 is a fantastic machine and well worth the money. I do remember comparing the two machines and the S9 won hands down in my research. I'm extremely pleased with the S9 compared to my old Respironics machine. I to have the humidifer with climate line tubing.....I absolutely love it....excellent humidity control.
I've bought some items from cpap.com but they don't take my insurance so I'm pretty much stuck with a local DME. I wish they did take my insurance because their prices are fantastic. I'd much rather buy from them than an over-priced DME.

Re: Hello, Im new to the forum...
If I were buying new I would buy from our forum host cpap.com. Not that I have anything against the other suppliers as I am sure they are just fine. I have ordered items from cpap.com but I have not used the others to comment one way or another. Cpap.com will price match if find something cost less elsewhere but from what I have seen around the web...only a handful of items might be found cheaper somewhere else.
If I were in the market for buying a gently used machine from an online supplier to get a warranty of some kind for backup or because I was strapped for cash I would probably go with secondwindcpap.com.
ResMed didn't cut corners on the S9. At least from the comments of users here that have had a chance to use both machines. As with any product there are always a handful of dissatisfied purchasers for whatever reason but the S9 users for the most part here are very loyal to their machines and sing high praises.
I have used a Respironics machine of some model for nearly 3 years. Quite happy with them. Recently I got a chance to try a ResMed S9 VPAP for a few weeks and it was every bit as nice as I thought it would be. Almost completely silent and very easy to use and adjust to. It didn't have the ClimateLine hose (so I didn't get to test that option) which I think is a very nice feature for those of us who like a lot of added moisture and don't like snorting it with rain out.
I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to buy a ResMed S9 machine if I needed or wanted one.

Re: Hello, Im new to the forum...
Cpap.com is reputable. I don't think there's any other online seller that has dramatically lower prices or is better in any significant way.
They do host this site, so I give them business whenever I can.
I'd say they're a good place to look first, but I'll buy elsewhere if there is a good reason to. I usually end up buying from cpap.com, except for a few items I find on ebay or local craigslist and am comfortable with buying that way.
