OK, so now what?

Post by snoringsoxfan » Fri Feb 24, 2006 1:25 pm

got my machine two days ago. A resmed s8 Elite w/c-flex and mirage nose pillows. So far so good but I can tell that I need a little work on how to go to bed. I start out being pretty sleepy but by the time I wash my face and get everything set up, put on, and adjusted, I'm not all that sleepy anymore. Anyone run into this? Also, it seems that I don't fall asleep until the ramp time is almost up. Does that make sense? Anyway, any input will be most welcome.

Do a Google search using "sleep hygiene" as the subject.

In the beginning, probably all of us have experienced trouble getting used to the pre-sleep routine and the mask.

Please do that search. There are a whole lot of do's and don'ts to understand so that you get to sleep more easily.

It's only a minor thing, but you might try washing your face & get everything ready, then sit at the computer, watch tv, or find something else to do for 20 minutes or so before you go to bed. This helped me with the same problem when I first started cpap.

Also, the ResMed machines have EPR (their version of Respironics c-flex)
