OBDC Link

Post by Bryonrw » Thu Feb 23, 2006 10:06 pm

How can I setup an OBDC link to the encore data. Looks like its stored in a SQL database.

Thanks!

Yes it uses Microsoft's Desktop Engine, you need to download .NET and intall it, easier just to download Derek's MyEncore and install it.

Click on the Sticky from the index to find it.

The ODBC driver should be loaded when you install the .NET you can then manually link it via Start/Programs/Administrative Tools/Data Sources (ODBC).

On my Dell system, Administrative Tools are found in the Control Panel (classic view), not under Start | All Programs. So, if Snoredog's link doesn't work, try this alternative.

I was having trouble with the authentication, however I have worked past that part.. Didn't realize there where so many tables. Time to play with Crystal Reports now

Thank you all,
