Desperately Needing HELP ASAP

Post by sheila1232 » Tue Jan 03, 2012 11:18 pm

I always put the mask/nose piece on for a few minutes and then turn it on as I get used to it being there. But now the nose piece is "gurgling" even when the machine is not on and I am breathing through it. What is the world is going on and how do I fix it??? After 5 days of being on the CPAP, I am terrified of having to sleep without it.

Have you checked for water in the hose (aka rainout). You can hear the water in the hose when you breathe through it. See if water will drip out of the hose back into the humidifier, then be sure you keep the cpap/humidifier is lower than your head so that gravity keeps it going back to the tank.

Thinking of quitting CPAP?

No problem, here's the first thing to do when you quit:

Advanced funeral planning. When you give up CPAP, you'll probably need it.

I've used that one. Look at your pillows Sheila and see if there is water droplets trapped between the pillows. That may be causing the gurgling noise you hear. atm the only thing i can thing of is there is moisture in the pillow. If that is what it is, shake it out, but gently.

Ok..I pulled the hose vertical and shook it towards the machine and that seemed to work. I will post again if once I climb into bed and put it on if it didn't solve it. Thanks so much...you talk about someone having a near panic attack. My CPAP is my new best friend

The "girgling" noise may just be normal air venting. Don't rule out any moisture.

I hang my hose every day to ensure there's no water in my hose. Not sure if that's the problem or not though.
