Hello. It's been awhile since I have been on here but all of the sudden I am having abnormally high leak numbers. The past 5 nites it has been averaging .50 to as high as 1.24L/s. I haven't changed anything on my mask or pillow. Is there anything I should try. My mask fit is excellent and I don't really want to tighten the straps anymore than I have too.
Thanks
High Leak numbers
Re: High Leak numbers
How long have you been using the current nasal pillow? If old..perhaps they are tired and need replaced...if new one..perhaps a malfunction of some sort in production like a pinhole or something..try a different one.
As always...check hose connections and even the long hose itself (as well as short hose to nasal pillow) for potential minor leaks.

Re: High Leak numbers
okay I will check. the pillows are only 2 weeks old. I recently replaced because of the same problem. I'll look again and let you know.
Re: High Leak numbers
How old is the headgear?
Put the mask on during the day and turn the machine on...check all connections for air leaks.
Check humidifier itself for any possible cracks in the plastic tank and in connections for the silicone seals (round O ring things).
Check plastic tank seal itself with water. Slosh it around to see if any water leaks out where it shouldn't.
For the long and short hose....fill with water to check for leaks.
If this happened 2 weeks ago....something odd is up since it has happened again with new pillows.
A while back someone found a small crack in the coupling to the humidifier on the back of the machine.

Re: High Leak numbers
Took everything apart and cleaned. Found nothing cracked or worn. Leak numbers are below .10 with ahi at 3.0 to 5.
Re: High Leak numbers
Well that is certainly acceptable. Perhaps there was a minor loose thing somewhere and when putting things back together it sealed better.epark300 wrote:Took everything apart and cleaned. Found nothing cracked or worn. Leak numbers are below .10 with ahi at 3.0 to 5.
