I know I’m not losing my mind. I’ve provide a sampling of last night’s data. Technically, I know I may have been up for at least an hour after waking up. Lowered the pressure back to 9cm (another story). However, as you will notice almost a four hour gap of no data, and I woke up with my mask on this morning. I’ve been noticing the lack of data reading for a while. This is proof. What’s going on? Before you can question, this has nothing with me taking off my mask in the middle of the night. The data should have at least read around 9 hours of documented sleep. I'm not feeling gooshy about this.

Sorry I dont have an answer - just a similar problem. Out of 15 nights, my SD card shows 4 nights with only 30-90 seconds of use. The other 11 nights show full data. The machine shows >4 hours of use every night but it didn't write the data to the card on those 4 nights. I'm asking for a new data card tomorrow and I hope that solves the problem. Maybe our machines have a glitch in transferring data to the card? I know I've used my mask all night every night. Any other PR System 1 users have this problem?

I can't come up with an answer either but I sure hope someone will come along soon with an explanation. Have you checked your Auto On/Off settings? To add to the confusion, if you're using the UMFF you're listing, according to the chart in my manual your avg leak at 9cm pressure should be around 35-36. Your data shows 29 which would correspond to a presssure of around 6cms, so that's very curious as well.

Are you sure that the machine didn't turn itself off and then back on again?
Mine started to do this approx 1 year ago and it had to be replaced.

@ Dori - Now you're scaring me! Wearing a FFM with this cpap. I know for a fact that my auto on/off have been off since day one.
I've never used them. Until I get to the bottom of this, no more FFM for me! I'll use my nasal.
I'll recheck those settings. Checked and both are off.
@ Mom - At least I'm not the only one then. I feel a little relieved that I'm not going insane then.
@ Sue - No. I seriously doubt it. This has been a pattern for a quite a while. Just thought I'd take time out to make mention of it.
We haven't had power surges or power outages in my home.
I'm not happy about this a now very concerned.

I have the PR System One and I noticed on my Sleepy Head chart just the other day that I have absolutely no data from Dec. 10th -Dec. 20th. as if I never used it at all. I use it every night too.. Weird that.

Maybe just like the S9s the Remstars need to be unplugged and plugged back in to reboot every once in awhile. I wonder if Microsoft was contracted to write the firmware for all those machines!!

It sounds like a firmware bug, if so many people are having the same problem at the same time.
Does it also affect your compliance data total hours?
In other words, do the hours show up for compliance but not for the overnight multi-resolution data?
It should be noted that data recording and therapy delivery are two separate functions of these machines, and that even if the data recording is whacky, your machine's therapy delivery should still be functioning normally.
If it is not properly recording your compliance data, it's time to take the machine back regardless. That data is your only proof for insurance purposes that you're using the machine. If it's merely not recording your overnight data, depending on how old your machine is and how reasonable your DME is, you may be able to exchange it for a new one.

@ Jo - Somethings not right for you either to be absent of data 10 days.
@ Mtnboy - "Unplugging" is NEVER an issue for me as often as I switch between the spare bedroom and sleeping with my husband every couple of days.
@ Dream - "Compliance" with the insurance is not an issue for me. I've never had to worry about that. It's just that for a while now,
I've noticed hours and data are missing. Even worse, could it be that missing data and hours mean no therapy??? I don't even want to think about that!
@ Dori - Huggs to you for noticing the odd leak rate. I NEVER would have noticed that!
Unfortunately, its Apria I have to call tomorrow. I wish I could go through my Primary Care Physician for this.
From the VERY, VERY bottom of my heart, I am SOOOOOO glad for this forum.
According to cpap.com, this cpap has a 2 year warranty which mine is within that time frame. Whew!
Starlette
NOTE: In my perfect world hehe, Apria is cooperative and agrees to exchange my cpap, I'm going to have them replace it with the same one I have now. However, make it an auto. If you all feel there is something better out there for me, please let me know.
I'm thinking ahead I know: I now have my setting at 9cm. What would be the range for an auto?

Starlette, I never had any power disruptions but my machine just started to turn itself off for varying times on random nights. At first it was months between missing data then it became weeks. Eventually Respironics admitted to supplier that there was a problem with machines manufactured in early-mid 2010 so they replaced it. Hope your problem is resolved soon.

Sue, I swear my cpap is doing the exact same thing as yours. Honestly, I feel this has been going on for several months.
I've just now been able to pinpoint the problem. I got mine March 2010 which falls right in line with stated timeline.
Thank you VERY much Sue for the headsup! This will be necessary ammo to use when I contact Apria tomorrow.

Good luck! When I read that you and Teri (Teknomom) had the same issue, I wondered if there was a more widespread problem with those machines, and snoozysue has possibly confirmed that. Let us know how it goes with Apria.
Thinking of quitting CPAP?
No problem, here's the first thing to do when you quit:

Hi, again! I just got back from the DME and their software (Encore Anywhere) showed full data on the card for every night! Now I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe it's Sleepyhead or my card reader or ??? I unplug my machine every day so it's been rebooted every night.

Well, I just hung up the phone with Apria. I asked for the same cpap, auto this time.
For the auto, they'll need to contact my doctor for a prescription.
She asked what the problem was. I told her it's not giving me a proper data reading.
She said someone will be contacting me for a delivery time.
*shrugs* We'll see what happens.

PS - If this works, I've learned a new life lesson. One just needs to state the facts without being mean and nasty.

Starlette,
I have only been around here a short time, but I have a hard time seeing you being mean and nasty. Then again, the way some of the DME's/Suppliers are, Mother Teresa would probably blow a gasket dealing with their profit driven incompetence.
Good luck
John
