which chin strap do you like & why?

Post by wolewyck » Wed Dec 28, 2011 6:15 pm

I have think, medium-length hair, so if any of you has a recommendation for a model that works well with that kind of hair (and with the Swift FX), it'd be of particular interest... Thanks!

I use the Respironics premium chinstrap. I have tried a few, and it works best of those I have tried.

BTW, I have slick, straight, slippery hair and have found that sewing velcro to the inside of the chinstrap and also the Swift FX headgear helped immensely with slippage. I don't know if that is a problem for you, but it has worked great for me.

I am thinking of trying the Papcap chinstrap.

I don't have long, thick hair, but I also like the Respironics premium chin strap. For me, it stays where I put it and is easy to put it on and take it off. It also seems to be holding up well (not stretching out).

One tip that has worked well for me is to put the chin strap on first and then your mask/mask headgear. It seems to cushion the mask headgear more and keep the chin strap more secured (no slipping/moving around).

I use the Ruby chinstrap. The way it fits, it doesn't move around at all. I had tried the Respironics Premium first, and it just didn't fit right or stay put at all.

Puresom Ruby Adjustable, when I need to use nasal pillows for some reason. The Puresom "Premium" strap definitely doesn't live up to it's name, the neoprene fabric is far too flimsy on this strap.

When I was using a nasal mask the only chinstrap that worked to some extent was the PapCap. After using it for a few months I decided to try a FF mask....I would never go back. The Quattro has been terriffic from day 1.

Do those of you who use the PapCap not find it too hot? Looking at how much of the head it covers, I'd worry that esp. in summer, keeping all that body heat in would be uncomfortable...?

Another vote for the Respironics premium chinstrap. I use it because its wide and more comfortable. I'm a side sleeper.

I dislike every chip strap I have tried, but I use this one only because it works so well for me. http://sleepapneasolutionsinc.com/?page_id=0

I have tried a couple of them but the one that works for me is the Ruby Adjustable.
